The MacLaren Art Centre is a charitable organization dedicated to bringing People to Art, Art to People.  Established in 1986, the Gallery is located in the former heritage Carnegie Library, an award winning building recognized for its architecture.  We are located at 37 Mulcaster Street,Barrie, Ontario.

The MacLaren Art Centre's exhibitions bridge regional and national art and the artists.  Visitors can come and see that art, and often take part in artist talks and curator presentations.  Reaching to the people and community beyond the gallery walls is also part of the MacLaren mission.  Through unique educational workshops, such as MacLarens groundbreaking VanGo programme, which brings professional artists to work with students' in their own classrooms or brings them into the gallery.  We have a gift shop that offers unique craft made by local artists and a cafe with courtyard to relax in and indulge local gourmet treats.
